This is a very rare Hasui print published directly before the Great Kanto Earthquake in September 1923. The printing blocks for Hasui's pre-earthquake designs were destroyed in the resulting fires and were never reprinted.

Condition:

excellent vibrant color, light toning on verso, numbered with original limited edition seal #18/300 on back; this print was stored inside the original folder and has never been displayed.

This is part of a limited edition series of 12 prints produced by the Tokyo pulisher Kato Junji in 1930. These prints were originally sold in folders with a fan-shaped opening, so they are sometimes referred to as fan prints.

excellent rich colors, several repaired margin tears not into image, otherwise good condition, detail of women; this is a beautiful color variant in deep blue tones called an aizuri-e.
